

Trend Dance are proud to be part of the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD).
Our teachers cater for all ages and grades of dancers and are taught separate syllabi for Classical Ballet, Tap Dance, Jazz Ballet and Modern Jazz. Trend Dance also teaches traditional National Dances, Funk/Hip Hop as well as singing classes by the very talented Miss Lyn Forbes.
Jan Hope (Principal)
Jan Hope is a member of both the Royal Academy of Dance and the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing. She has danced ballet on the Theatre Royal and was also a regular on the hotel circuit for 6 years, as well as dancing on television's ""In Brisbane Tonight Show"".
With her talent far from being restricted to just performing, Jan has also choreographed Pantos, Conventions, Theatre Royal Shows, and the musical 'Stepping Out' for Queensland University.
Today, Jan continues to prepare students for exams, eisteddfods, carnivals, musical theatre, and ballet performances.
Nici Hope (Principal)
Versatility comes naturally to Nici Hope as she moves between Theatre, Dance, and Television performances. She most recently played the part of Carrie Pipperidge in Rodgers and Hammerstein's ""Carousel"" at the Twelfth Night Theatre.
Nici began dancing at the age of 2 1/2 under the tutelage of her mother, Jan Hope. She won numerous Eisteddfods, Singing and Dancing competitions and became a professional dancer in 1988 while still a high school student.
Nici was cast in Conrad Jupiter's Casinos' ""STORM"" as the lead singer, Brisbane born Nici is known throughout Australia for her stage and television performances, having appeared in 42nd Street, Singin' in the Rain, Chicago, Gypsy, South Pacific, Sunset Boulevard and The Boy from OZ. She has also starred in productions for the Sydney Dance Company, Halifax FP, Neighbours, Hey Hey Its Saturday and The Midday Show.
Nici has choreographed many award-winning numbers for Trend Dance Team and was asked to choreograph the opening routine for the 2005 CSTD concert at the Lyric Theatre in Brisbane.
Lyn Forbes
As a performer Lynn has worked in Many facets of the entertainment industry: Cabaret, Rock Jazz, Theatre Restaurant, Stage Review, Jingles, Recording.
Toured South East Asia with her one woman show.
Sunny Award (QPRIA. Qld Professional Recording Industry Award) One being Best Female Vocal for one of her Jazz recordings. Another won by her original rock band she and her husband had formed at that time called The Idle Rich.
Now a Judge for the Sunny Awards since 1999.
Awarded A Goldie for her Jingle Work. Resident T.V. Celebrity Judge for Kangaroo Karaoke, viewed on community T.V. nationally around Australia. Author of ""The Singers Companion"" Hook-Line & Singer Method For Vocals.. Teaching for 13 years in private and group format.
Teaching in Performance Academy's throughout the greater Brisbane area and also more recently working closely with the professional students at The Queensland Ballet. The Master Classes and Workshops are proving to be in great demand by both amateurs and professionals alike right around Australia.
Assistant to the Production Manager Event Co-Coordinator for the Entertainment Training Package Launch. Was also responsible for F.O.H. Team, Design and Production of Security Laminates.
Alicia Woods
Alicia has been an important part of Trend Dance for past 15 years and has achieved a high standard in all genre of dance.
For the last six years Alicia's roll as an assistant teacher has been to look after the under 8's and under 10's providing both instruction and encouragement.
Alicia has found this very rewarding and a great assistance in primary school teacher studies.
All teachers of the studio must adhere to the class syllabus and all classroom activities are monitored closely by the Jan and Nici.
Shannon, Jordon & Crystal
Shannon has danced with us since the age of 6, Jordon since being a 3 year old toddler and Crystal joined us after Trend took over the Capalaba studio.
They have the main role of taking the younger students including our babies (The Tiny Talents) although they are very popular with pupils of all ages.
They have also attained very hi marks for all their CSTD (Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing Inc) Exams.
Shannon, Jordon and Crystal have had great success with the Trend Eisteddfod Team at many dance competitions.
All assistant teachers of the studio must adhere to the class syllabus and all classroom activities are monitored closely by Jan and Nici.
